University of Rochester is hiring a Data Analyst I

The University of Rochester seeks a Data Analyst I to join our mission-driven team. You will support the development of methods for data collection, analysis, and reporting, helping to translate data into actionable insights that advance our Meliora (Ever Better) goals. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented analyst eager to apply their skills in a values-based environment defined by integrity, respect, and accountability.

What You'll Do

• Assist with tracking and compiling comprehensive business metric data to evaluate program and process effectiveness.
• Protect and ensure data confidentiality per applicable university policies and procedures.
• Assist with building business solutions based on data analysis.
• Collect requirements and design reports to meet specific data analysis needs.
• Assist in preparing detailed documentation and reporting for stakeholders.
• Support the audit process and help compile required documentation.
• Update and maintain the integrity of assigned databases on an ongoing basis.
• Prepare reports and recommendations based on your analysis of gathered information.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures, process maps, and project plans for major reporting projects.

What We're Looking For

• A Bachelor’s degree in statistical analysis, database management, or a related discipline.
• 1+ year of experience with data analysis or customer resource management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with statistics and statistical analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to visually portray data effectively.

Technical Stack

• Microsoft Excel (advanced knowledge preferred).

Benefits & Compensation

• Compensation range: $21.36 - $29.90 per hour.

Work Mode

This is a remote position. Candidates must be located in New York, specifically in the Albany area (12224).
