About the Role

UT Southwestern Medical Center is hiring a Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will work with the IR Team under the supervision of a Senior Database Analyst to conduct EPIC OPTime data mining and support critical reporting functions. You will be responsible for designing and utilizing data models, conducting cost analysis, and creating data visualizations that inform decision-making across clinical and administrative departments.

What You'll Do

  • Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing clinical and administrative requests.
  • Build data dashboards from multiple systems and sources.
  • Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data.
  • Use database applications and analytical tools to evaluate data quality, applications, and functions.
  • Research new data sources and analytical tools to contribute to product development and improvement.
  • Provide a high level of customer service while meeting project and presentation deadlines.
  • Manage standing reports to specification and timelines, including department P&L, OR Metrics, and service line scorecards.
  • Format data and presentations for standing committees such as quarterly QA/PI/PIC Committees and Service Line Steering Committees.
  • Work with various departments, divisions, and administrators to develop and understand task specifications.
  • Deliver data products in report, presentation, or verbal format to leadership in a detailed and timely manner.
  • Apply your knowledge to the evaluation, analysis, and interpretation of data.
  • Communicate results effectively to customers and team members.
  • Point out system or process problems when noticed and engage the team in problem-solving.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher; a degree in Healthcare or Business Administration is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in data analysis, decision support, or finance, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software and data dashboard building.
  • At least 1 year of healthcare experience, preferably in healthcare operations and analytics.

Technical Stack

  • Python, SQL, SSIS, Power BI, Tableau
  • EPIC OPTime, Caboodle, Clarity
