About the Role

Kiewit Corporation is hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role within the Kiewit Technology Group, you will own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents and investigations, while helping design, build, and use infrastructure securely. You’ll report directly to the Cybersecurity Manager.

What You'll Do

  • Play a central role in securing Kiewit systems and data from potential threats or compromise.
  • Actively participate in security threat monitoring, analyzing attack methods, and leading incident response.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure appropriate security processes, procedures, and tools are installed, monitored, and operating effectively.
  • Drive strategy, planning, and operational excellence through continuous improvement and automation.
  • Lead projects and provide guidance on secure solutions and requirements.
  • Ensure monitoring of alerts and logs from enterprise security tools like firewalls, IDS, antivirus, DLP, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Document and conform to processes for security monitoring and detection.
  • Prioritize workflow and address technical and non-technical escalations.
  • Create and implement monitoring and alarm rules and configurations.
  • Perform cyber news analysis, contribute to security awareness training, and recommend new analytic methods for detecting threats.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing to develop skill sets across the analyst team.
  • Support the broader information security function as needed.
  • Stay informed on security industry trends, potential threats, and vulnerabilities.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field such as Information Assurance, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • 10 years of related work experience in Information Technology.
  • 5 years of focused work experience in Information Security.
  • Understanding of security technologies like cryptography, IPsec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, access lists, and application vulnerabilities.
  • Familiarity with tools used in security operations, incident response, and forensics.
  • Natural curiosity and a desire to continually learn and improve.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  • A thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • The ability to identify issues, obtain relevant information, analyze data from different sources, and identify alternative solutions.
  • The ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen their knowledge and skills.
  • The ability to write technical information clearly and concisely for a variety of audiences.
  • High motivation, self-starting initiative, and the ability to multi-task, work independently, and as part of multiple teams.
  • Ability to work off-hours when required and be part of an on-call rotation.
  • Commitment to regular, reliable attendance.
  • A proven ability to work productively and meet deadlines.
  • Effective and professional communication with supervisors, employees, and others in team and individual settings.
  • A commitment to performing work safely and effectively, following oral and written instructions, and adhering to policies.
  • Ability to organize and complete work within given deadlines during normal operating hours, with willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Flexibility to work at various locations as conditions may vary.

Nice to Have

  • Related work experience in system administration, software development, security operations, or risk and governance.
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CISSP, CISM, GCFE, or GCIH.
  • Experience collecting and using data to build compelling or engaging visuals.

You will be part of the Security Operations team within the Kiewit Technology Group, reporting to the Cybersecurity Manager.
