Atlan is hiring a Customer Solutions Architect to be a strategic technical partner for forward-thinking companies in the data space. You will help them integrate Atlan into their technology stacks, drive value through adoption, and work closely with customer data teams and internal groups to design and implement solutions.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with Customer Success Managers and customer data teams to onboard customers and drive adoption.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding a customer’s business, analyzing their data estate, and leading strategic workshops to design optimal Atlan architectures.
- Scope and design custom solutions for customer needs not met by native Atlan capabilities, using Atlan’s Open API, SDKs, and extensible elements.
- Conduct technical enablement sessions for customer engineers, including live API sessions and providing sample scripts.
- Create Proofs of Concept (POCs) or full solutions for customers needing involved implementation support.
- Drive customer value and innovation using Active Metadata for use cases like auto PII detection.
- Act as a bridge between the Customer Experience group and Product/Engineering to communicate customer feedback.
- Build expertise in tools across the Modern Data Stack to be a trusted advisor.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to build thought leadership in the Active Metadata category.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years experience as a Data Engineer plus experience as a customer-facing technologist (e.g., Solutions Architect, Consulting, Field Engineer).
- Ability to dig deep into problem statements to uncover true business drivers and design high-value solutions.
- Ability to quickly assess the technical and business acumen of customer stakeholders and translate between different personas.
- Highly effective at solving complex problems and trailblazing through uncharted territory.
- Extensive experience across different types of tooling in the data estate including OLAP/OLTP databases, data warehouses, ETL, and BI.
- Proficient in SQL with a good understanding of Enterprise Data Warehousing and Data lake architecture, with experience in Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or similar.
- Experience in Python scripting, and a desire to deepen knowledge in current technologies and learn new ones.
- Knowledge of Cloud architecture fundamentals: Highly available fault tolerant systems, IAM policies, security groups, and networking.
- Experience/Knowledge of Data flow architecture, orchestration, and transformation tools.
- Familiar with consuming REST APIs for automation, data transfer, and high-level system design.
- Expertise in managing customer challenges to resolution.
