Kentro (IT Concepts dba Kentro) is looking for a Customer Service Engineer (VA ESOM) to provide critical onsite and remote IT support for the VA-ESOM contract. You will be responsible for responding to end-user requests, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, and ensuring the optimal operation of computer systems at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center.
What You'll Do
- Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot computer systems and equipment.
- Deliver remote and desk-side technical support, respond to IT support tickets, and perform diagnostic and repair activities.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, interface with software applications, compile reports, and respond to customer requests.
- Maintain Active Directory and other system accounts, and support connectivity and client applications.
- Assist in the configuration and support of local and wide area network services.
- Monitor open tickets in VA’s ServiceNow system to ensure process adherence and report discrepancies.
- Utilize debugging protocols and processes to troubleshoot problems and implement corrective actions.
- Facilitate equipment returns, deployments, unboxing, inventorying, and verification.
- Handle physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating facility spaces to access equipment.
- Stand and move throughout the work area for prolonged periods.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering/technical discipline OR 8+ years of additional relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience in IT Technical Support, Help Desk, or System Administration.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role.
- Must be a US Citizen or Green card holder.
- Willing and able to obtain a Public Trust Suitability clearance.
- Must meet updated ID requirements as specified by GSA.
- Ability to comply with facility-specific vaccination and testing requirements (e.g., yearly flu vaccination, TB testing, MMR/Hepatitis B/Varicella records).
Nice to Have
- Experience conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs.
- Knowledge of debugging protocols and processes.
- Adept knowledge of IT principles and practices, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and a basic understanding of system administration in a Windows environment.
