Colas Rail UK is seeking a Crusher Operator to join our team. This role involves operating heavy equipment and crushing machinery while performing general labor and maintenance in a physically demanding, outdoor environment. You will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, company procedures, and all OH&S standards.
What You'll Do
- Operate heavy equipment including skidsteers, front-end loaders, and excavators.
- Operate and service crushing equipment.
- Perform general labour duties such as shoveling around belts and crushers.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery.
- Work outdoors in a noisy, dusty, and physically demanding environment.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by following company policies, procedures, and all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) guidelines.
- Comply with all OH&S legislation and safe work practices.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating a skidsteer, loader, and excavator.
- Strong communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
- Ability to work independently when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive, safe, and fast‑paced work environment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs or more and work in extreme weather conditions.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience with crushing operations.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly wage: $24.66 - $29.63/hr
