Solventum is hiring a Control Systems Engineering - Transition Hire to design and implement control system solutions for automated process equipment. This unique role includes an 18-month career-broadening rotation through Design Engineering, Capital Engineering, and Process Technology Engineering.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement effective control system solutions for new and existing automated process equipment.
- Develop control system architecture, including selecting hardware and programming software.
- Oversee machine installation and commissioning activities to ensure successful startup and integration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and optimize control systems to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Develop project estimates, plans, and proposals, and coordinate project approvals (Capital Engineering rotation).
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and construction activities (Capital Engineering rotation).
- Specify performance and design criteria for facilities and equipment (Capital Engineering rotation).
- Define and execute competitive bidding and delivery strategies (Capital Engineering rotation).
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, guidelines, and standards (Capital Engineering rotation).
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and project teams (Capital Engineering rotation).
- Advance and deploy new technologies to support business goals (Capital Engineering rotation).
- Identify and lead improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost, capacity, and productivity (Process Technology rotation).
- Create and optimize data-driven solutions to enhance manufacturing processes (Process Technology rotation).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate data collection and analytics (Process Technology rotation).
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline, completed and verified prior to start, from an accredited institution.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, or computer engineering.
- Prior internship or co-op experience involving a control systems engineering process or technology.
- Prior experience with PLC, HMI, drive, and robot programming.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
