About the Role
This position involves designing intuitive and visually compelling websites with a strong focus on user experience and interface design. The designer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create accessible, responsive, and brand-aligned digital solutions for clients across various sectors.
Responsibilities
- Design user-centered website interfaces with attention to usability and accessibility
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for client review
- Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs
- Conduct design research to inform user experience decisions
- Create design systems and maintain consistent visual standards across projects
- Present design concepts and iterations to stakeholders
- Gather and incorporate feedback from team members and clients
- Ensure designs meet responsive layout requirements across devices
- Support user testing initiatives and apply findings to design improvements
- Work within established brand guidelines while suggesting enhancements
- Translate complex information into clear, engaging visual layouts
- Manage multiple design projects with overlapping deadlines
- Document design processes and decisions for team reference
- Stay current with web design trends, tools, and accessibility standards
- Participate in team meetings and design critiques
Nice to Have
- Experience designing for higher education or nonprofit sectors
- Background in information architecture
- Familiarity with design tokens and component libraries
- Experience mentoring junior designers
- Knowledge of performance implications of design choices
