YLD is hiring a Contract Senior Software Engineer (Python/AWS)

YLD is seeking a Contract Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Python and AWS to contribute to key initiatives for a media client's streaming and media handling platforms. You'll take ownership of features and architecture, building scalable backend services that support core media infrastructure in a high-impact, remote-first role.

What You'll Do

• Build and refine scalable backend systems using Python.
• Design infrastructure on AWS and implement robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Write clean, tested code that supports millions of users worldwide.
• Collaborate closely with a global, diverse team of engineers.
• Advocate for best practices, continuous improvement, and thoughtful architecture.
• Showcase work in regular demos and give and receive feedback.

What We're Looking For

• Strong Python experience and have built backend services using Django.
• Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Understand how to ship code with confidence—through CI/CD, testing, and monitoring.
• Comfortable with Docker, Kubernetes, and scalable system design.
• Know your way around relational and schema-less databases.
• Bring a collaborative spirit and love helping others grow.

Nice to Have

• Dabbled in Go or Node.js.
• Have experience with GraphQL and gRPC.
