YLD is looking for a Contract Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of key initiatives for a client's streaming and media handling platforms. You will build scalable backend services that support core media infrastructure in a remote-first, high-impact team.
What You'll Do
- Build and refine scalable backend systems using Python
- Design infrastructure on AWS and implement robust CI/CD pipelines
- Write clean, tested code that supports millions of users worldwide
- Collaborate closely with a global, diverse team of engineers
- Advocate for best practices, continuous improvement, and thoughtful architecture
- Showcase work in regular demos and give and receive feedback
What We're Looking For
- Strong Python experience and have built backend services using Django
- Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation
- Understand how to ship code with confidence—through CI/CD, testing, and monitoring
- Comfortable with Docker, Kubernetes, and scalable system design
- Know your way around relational and schema-less databases
- Bring a collaborative spirit and love helping others grow
Nice to Have
- Dabbled in Go or Node.js
- Experience with GraphQL and gRPC
