The 3rd Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient function of auxiliary engines and onboard mechanical systems aboard container ships. This position demands technical expertise, adherence to international maritime standards, and clear communication within a diverse engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the correct operation, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of auxiliary engines and related machinery
- Support the engineering department in maintaining reliable performance of vessel systems
- Follow safety protocols and contribute to a culture of operational excellence
Required Qualifications
- Valid Certificate of Competency (STCW Regulation III/1) with proper verification
- Current STCW certification relevant to the position
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Minimum of six months’ experience in the same rank on a vessel of comparable size and type
