MongoDB is hiring a Consulting Engineer, Remote Services to deliver remote consulting services to customers worldwide. This role solves complex problems across industries from e-commerce to trading systems. You will contribute to customer implementations, migrations, and optimizations, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the application lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to migrating customers from self-hosted MongoDB to Atlas.
- Contribute to customer implementations across all phases: portfolio assessment, planning, design, deployment, development, integration, testing, operations, and optimization.
- Work within a wider delivery team of consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams.
- Cultivate your reputation as a trusted advisor to guide both customers and MongoDB.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence the MongoDB product roadmap.
- Maintain the required level of billable utilization.
- Successfully communicate the product roadmap to external clients.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of software development, consulting, or support experience, preferably across multiple industries.
- Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- High motivation for a role blending deep technical and customer-management work.
- Confidence speaking and presenting in collaborative customer settings.
- Competence in at least one of: Java, C++, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Perl, Scala, Go.
- Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning.
- Experience working with public cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP.
- Ready to work shifts matching customer time zones during the working week.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment/operations.
- Windows tuning knowledge.
