Blue Cross NC is looking for a Consulting Actuary – Part D to deliver a wide range of actuarial and analytical services. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing pricing strategies, evaluating advanced care management models, and designing complex insurance products.
What You'll Do
- Complete complex actuarial or analytical projects, ensuring timeliness, compliance, and quality.
- Provide strategic thought leadership to improve processes, reduce risks, and meet enterprise objectives for profitable growth.
- Achieve segment financial targets, explain variances, and act as a financial steward.
- Communicate effectively with all levels and divisions within the organization, including Divisional Leadership.
- Manage external partnerships with vendors, auditors, regulators, and providers, including contract negotiation.
- Develop and maintain strong internal business relationships, acting as a strategic advisor.
- Meet continuing education standards required for the job function and maintenance of actuarial credentials.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).
- Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
- 7 years of relevant actuarial experience (related experience may be considered).
- In lieu of an FSA, we will consider candidates who are an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) with at least 9 years of relevant actuarial experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Medicare Part D pricing with a deep understanding of Part D financial drivers.
- Proficiency with drug trend modeling and loss‑of‑exclusivity (patent loss) forecasting.
- Strong formulary strategy and analytics skills, including formulary composition, tiering strategy, and formulary impact modeling.
