About the Role

This role involves conducting ecological surveys, preparing reports, and advising on environmental constraints to support project development across various sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field surveys for protected species and habitats
  • Collect and analyze ecological data according to scientific standards
  • Prepare ecological impact assessments and supporting documentation
  • Conduct phase 1 habitat surveys and species-specific studies
  • Support environmental due diligence for infrastructure projects
  • Follow current ecological survey methodologies and guidelines
  • Identify flora and fauna species in diverse environments
  • Assess potential impacts of developments on ecological features
  • Contribute to mitigation planning and ecological enhancement strategies
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
  • Communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies
  • Maintain accurate field records and survey notes
  • Ensure compliance with national environmental legislation
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols during field operations
  • Use GPS and mapping tools for habitat delineation
  • Assist in the development of ecological management plans
  • Participate in desk-based ecological appraisals
  • Review planning applications from an ecological perspective
  • Support post-consent ecological monitoring activities
  • Contribute to biodiversity net gain assessments
  • Engage with stakeholders on ecological constraints
  • Uphold professional standards in reporting and analysis
  • Respond to client requests with technical accuracy
  • Manage time effectively across multiple project demands
  • Support senior staff in delivering project objectives
