Responsibilities
- Perform field surveys for protected species and habitats
- Collect and analyze ecological data according to scientific standards
- Prepare ecological impact assessments and supporting documentation
- Conduct phase 1 habitat surveys and species-specific studies
- Support environmental due diligence for infrastructure projects
- Follow current ecological survey methodologies and guidelines
- Identify flora and fauna species in diverse environments
- Assess potential impacts of developments on ecological features
- Contribute to mitigation planning and ecological enhancement strategies
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams
- Communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies
- Maintain accurate field records and survey notes
- Ensure compliance with national environmental legislation
- Adhere to health and safety protocols during field operations
- Use GPS and mapping tools for habitat delineation
- Assist in the development of ecological management plans
- Participate in desk-based ecological appraisals
- Review planning applications from an ecological perspective
- Support post-consent ecological monitoring activities
- Contribute to biodiversity net gain assessments
- Engage with stakeholders on ecological constraints
- Uphold professional standards in reporting and analysis
