HSBC Group is looking for a Consultant Business Systems to assume full IT Service Ownership for the SWIFT Alliance Gateway USA service. In this role, you will be responsible for the US SWIFT Infrastructure and Products, collaborating with stakeholders to define a technology strategy aligned with business goals. You will manage a small team of cross-functional engineers and deliver critical change programs.
What You'll Do
- Manage IT Service Ownership for SWIFT Alliance Gateway USA, with full responsibility for the US SWIFT Infrastructure and Products.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define the technology strategy aligning with business goals.
- Manage a small team of cross-functional engineers located across Buffalo and India.
- Drive down costs through automation, less TOIL, and efficient use of infrastructure.
- Evaluate SWIFT products and services from functional and non-functional perspectives.
- Deliver change programs as per the annual Book of Work.
- Collect resource and cost estimates, establish baseline budgets, and secure approvals from the Program Steering Committee.
- Track expenses against approved budgets and provide monthly progress reports to stakeholders.
- Conduct revenue projections to support business cases, identify cost savings, and optimize resource allocation.
- Manage budget and reporting for SWIFT Alliance Gateway USA.
- Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and compliance requirements throughout the service lifecycle.
- Perform periodic risk assessments, enforce HSBC’s Enterprise and Operational Risk Management Frameworks, and maintain robust control documentation.
- Participate in audits and implement all security and data privacy controls as per compliance standards.
- Lead program governance forums, project kickoff meetings, and project status updates, and facilitate cross-team collaboration.
- Define and execute a detailed communication plan, including escalation protocols and risk communication.
- Maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and resource managers.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.
- 7 years of experience in cross-border high value payment processing systems and methodologies.
- 7 years of experience configuring and managing SWIFT Products, including SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG), SWIFT Net Link (SNL), and Hardware Security Module (HSM).
- 7 years of experience with Java, IBM MQ, and WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
- 5 years of experience in production support for SWIFT products.
- 2 years of experience in IT Service Ownership for Mission Critical Payment Systems, managing the safety, security, resilience, and availability of IT services.
- 2 years of experience in backlog prioritization, escalation processes, and risk management for US SWIFT Applications.
- 2 years of experience in vendor contract management for critical financial market utilities, specifically with SWIFT, including risk management, relationship oversight, and ongoing contract monitoring.
- 2 years of experience in financial management for SWIFT projects, including providing resource estimates, coordinating with global teams for resource allocation, reviewing and approving timesheets, and analyzing monthly finance reports to manage budget consumption.
- 2 years of experience in project management for SWIFT projects, including creating project plans and milestones, generating weekly status reports, tracking project RAG status, and developing remediation plans.
- 2 years of experience with Jenkins and GitHub, including automating deployment processes for SWIFT services and managing software upgrades.
- 2 years of experience with Agile methodologies and running projects in sprints using JIRA and Confluence.
