About the Role
The selected candidate will manage a caseload of construction defect matters, including conducting investigations, drafting pleadings, coordinating expert analysis, and representing clients during discovery and trial phases.
Responsibilities
- Manage construction defect litigation from intake through resolution
- Conduct site inspections and coordinate technical evaluations
- Draft complaints, answers, motions, and discovery requests
- Oversee document production and responses
- Interview and prepare witnesses
- Work with engineers and forensic specialists
- Develop case strategy in coordination with senior attorneys
- Handle depositions of adverse parties and experts
- Prepare for and attend court hearings
- Negotiate settlements when appropriate
- Maintain compliance with procedural rules
- Communicate case developments to clients
- Coordinate with local counsel in multi-jurisdictional matters
- Track deadlines using case management systems
- Support trial preparation including exhibits and jury instructions
- Participate in mediation and alternative dispute resolution
- Review insurance policies for coverage analysis
- Assist in risk assessment for new claims
- Maintain accurate billing records
- Follow ethical guidelines in client representation
