At Caterpillar Inc., we are looking for a Condition Monitoring Advisor to join our team in Bangalore. You will work directly with fleet managers, dealers, and customers to maximize machine availability, reduce total cost of ownership, and minimize unplanned downtime. Your core mission will be to transform raw data into meaningful insights that monitor asset performance, identify issues, and drive real-world decisions.
What You'll Do
- Monitor machine health for 100-150 Caterpillar machines using the five elements of condition monitoring: SOS fluid analysis, Product Link/VIMS data, inspection reports, backlog management, and site conditions.
- Aggregate and correlate data from all five condition monitoring elements to identify trends, detect issues early, and prioritize actions.
- Deliver actionable equipment recommendations via purpose-built Caterpillar software tools to dealers and customers.
- Send Condition Monitoring recommendations using custom software tools and provide clear, data-driven verbal updates.
- Participate in or facilitate regular meetings with customers, dealers, and product groups to review performance and contribute to action plans.
- Act as a trusted advisor to dealers and customers, fostering collaborative relationships.
- Maintain working knowledge across all five condition monitoring elements, with deep expertise in at least two.
- Identify new analytics to accelerate issue detection, support proactive maintenance, and improve fleet performance.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience in Product Support or Engineering roles, such as service representative, reliability engineer, technician, mechanic, or technologist.
- Extensive experience in identifying and troubleshooting machine issues.
- Working knowledge of engines, power train, hydraulic systems, Product Link™, VIMS, inspection processes, equipment lifecycle planning, S•O•SSM Services, and the Service Information System (SISweb).
- Awareness of predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, and collaboration with peers.
- Experience in planning and executing tests, analyzing results, and delivering actionable recommendations.
- Proven background in condition monitoring, test/validation engineering, field follow of OEM equipment, or on-hand troubleshooting/repair.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and make informed, effective decisions.
- Deep understanding of customer-centric values and practices, with skill in aligning business decisions with customer needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships in customer-facing roles, comfortable working directly with dealers and customers.
