KBC Group is looking for a Compliance Advisor, Team Leader to lead and develop a team of experts in consumer protection. In this role, you will translate legal and internal regulations into clear language, implement them into processes, and ensure the bank operates in full regulatory compliance. You'll combine advisory work with regular control activities and communication with supervisory authorities.
What You'll Do
- Provide methodological leadership for a smaller team of experts in consumer credit and payment services compliance.
- Offer regulatory advisory services to assigned organizational units.
- Actively participate in the creation of new products and projects.
- Review internal documents, regulations, and processes to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Educate our employees, including senior management, on compliance matters.
- Conduct control activities: independently check assigned areas for regulatory compliance, clearly identify any deficiencies, and propose adequate solutions for remediation.
- Prepare English-language reporting for management describing current developments in the field.
- Handle requests and communicate with the regulator.
What We're Looking For
- University degree, ideally in law or economics.
- At least 3 years of experience in consumer protection and credit, or payment services.
- Ability to apply legal regulations (e.g., CCD, MCD, or PSD2 and related national legislation, interpretive positions of the EBA or CNB).
- Excellent communication skills in both Czech and English for communication with local management and colleagues in Belgium.
- Impeccable argumentation skills and the ability to formulate requirements clearly and understandably.
- Active search for compromise between the requirements of other departments and regulatory compliance.
- Independence – ability to work alone while being a team player, and readiness to make decisions and take responsibility for them.
- Pleasant demeanor with high moral and ethical values.
Nice to Have
- Experience in control functions such as compliance, risk, or audit within a financial institution or supervisory authority.
