About the Role

Babcock International is looking for a Communications Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate the existing Defence High Frequency Communications System (DHFCS) and support the implementation and operation of the upgraded Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS). Your work will play a vital part in supporting the Australian Defence Force's critical communications infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Perform and deliver contracted Operations Support, monitoring, engineering, and operating voice and data circuits over HF and satellite.
  • Operate cryptographic keying equipment.
  • Maintain a 12-hour rotational shift roster.
  • Achieve competency to operate DHFCS and EDHFCS Mission System.
  • Conduct initial investigations into system failures and reliability concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete administrative duties as required.
  • Collaborate and engage with internal stakeholders and work as part of a high-functioning team.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of one year experience as a Defence Communications Operator, or experience in a similar field.
  • Experience in an operations role in a Defence environment.
  • Ability to work within a rotating shift roster.
  • Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Security Clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Qualifications in leadership, management, or communications will be highly regarded.
