Sedgwick is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Property Claims Desk Adjuster to join our team. In this role, you will manage a caseload for commercial property insurers, evaluating coverage, conducting investigations, and negotiating settlements. What You'll Do
- Evaluate insurance policies, endorsements, and carrier instructions to determine coverage.
- Conduct thorough investigations by gathering reports, inspecting records, and assessing damage.
- Interview and correspond with claimants and witnesses.
- Estimate the cost of repair, replacement, or compensation.
- Prepare reports and negotiate claim settlements according to carrier instructions.
- Issue settlement checks, file regulatory documents, and manage salvage and subrogation.
- Recommend litigation when settlements cannot be negotiated and participate in hearings as needed.
- Revise case reserves to accurately reflect probable claim costs.
- Maintain an expected caseload efficiently.
- Utilize technology and automation tools for effective claim handling.
What We're Looking For
- An appropriate state adjuster license.
- Three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain the IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months in the role.
- An empathetic claims handling demeanor.
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical, interpretive, and negotiating skills.
- Proficiency with PCs, including Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to create comprehensive, accurate, and constructive written reports.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and meet performance competencies.
- Clear, conceptual thinking with excellent judgment, problem-solving, and discretion.
- Ability to manage work-related stress, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Computer keyboarding skills; travel as required.
Nice to Have
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Prior experience handling property and casualty claims.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid position that will be remote after the initial training period.
