Propelis is hiring a Color Retoucher to execute digital page layout and precise image manipulation. You will work directly from job tickets to prepare files for commercial print production, ensuring quality and technical accuracy across all deliverables.
What You'll Do
- Review job ticket instructions to determine production requirements.
- Generate proofs according to job specifications.
- Trap files using RIP software and/or Adobe CS applications.
- Perform quality control on all work, following standard operating procedures and checklists.
- Update your manager and project managers on job status.
- Ensure all jobs and materials are properly charged.
- Communicate clearly when handing off jobs to co-workers or the next shift.
- Follow SOPs and provide feedback for process improvements.
- Attend QC review meetings and participate in weekend on-call rotations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to job production and software.
- Attend team and department meetings as required.
- Analyze proofs and originals to determine necessary corrections.
- Make color adjustments to improve printability for offset, flexo, and gravure processes.
- Perform conversions from RAW and RGB to CMYK color space.
- Execute image manipulation and create composite images.
- Create and adjust vignettes, gradients, and multi-ink files.
