Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy enterprise-grade cloud architectures on AWS, ensuring alignment with security protocols and operational requirements.
- Lead cloud migration initiatives, transforming on-premises systems into cloud-native solutions using modern refactoring and re-platforming techniques.
- Develop and enforce cloud governance strategies, including cost management, automated compliance, and resource optimization.
- Evaluate emerging AWS technologies and integrate innovative tools to maintain technical edge and operational efficiency.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, mentoring engineering teams and guiding leadership on cloud strategy and implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field with 9+ years of experience, or 13+ years of systems architecture experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Strong grasp of cloud security principles, including IAM policies, STIG compliance, and identity governance.
- Familiarity with hybrid networking, load balancing, and secure cloud connectivity.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position located in Annapolis Junction, MD, operating within a structured office setting with periodic access to client facilities or testing environments.
