As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will take ownership of building and maintaining robust cloud platforms across AWS and Heroku. Your work will center on establishing secure, efficient, and highly available infrastructure through automation, sound architectural practices, and deep system understanding.
What You'll Do
You'll lead the end-to-end lifecycle of cloud infrastructure, from design to deployment and ongoing optimization. You'll make practical decisions that balance innovation with stability, ensuring systems scale effectively and operate reliably under real-world demands. Collaboration with application and platform teams is central to your role, enabling consistent improvements in performance, security, and cost efficiency.
You'll advance the organization's cloud maturity by refining IaaS and PaaS environments, implementing infrastructure-as-code, and driving best practices in networking, access control, and runtime configuration. Your efforts will directly influence system resilience and operational effectiveness across distributed services.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years managing production cloud environments on AWS and/or Heroku
- Proven expertise with Infrastructure as Code for managing large-scale systems
- Strong knowledge of core AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, and load balancing technologies
- Hands-on experience with Heroku operations, including pipelines, add-ons, scaling, and runtime optimization
- Firm grasp of operating systems, debugging techniques, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in networking concepts such as routing, DNS, IP addressing, and private connectivity solutions like VPC peering or AWS PrivateLink
- Experience writing automation scripts in Python, Bash, or similar languages
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and platform-level issues
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
