Ford is seeking a Cloud Automation Engineer to play a key role as we extend our presence into Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will develop automation best practices, teach internal business partners, and consult on cloud technologies to help shape and define Ford's GCP cloud experience using Infrastructure as Code and Agile/DevOps methodologies.
What You'll Do
- Assist with automation work as Ford extends its presence into Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Develop best automation practices.
- Teach internal business partners (ITO, PDO, GDIA, Enterprise Connectivity).
- Consult on cloud technologies and drive improvements to Google’s Platform through partnership with Google.
- Work with cross-functional teams to help shape and define Ford's GCP cloud experience.
- Use tools including GitHub, Terraform, and Tekton to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Agile/DevOps methodologies.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Technology Management, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Technology Management, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
- 4 years of experience utilizing GCP, AWS, or Microsoft Azure to design and implement enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure.
- 4 years of experience utilizing Golang, Java, and .NET to develop automation tools, cloud orchestration services, and API integrations for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- 4 years of experience utilizing Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools (Tekton and GitHub Actions) to build automated pipelines.
- 4 years of experience utilizing Docker and Kubernetes (including OpenShift distributions) to orchestrate container workloads.
- 4 years of experience utilizing configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) to automate system configurations.
- 3 years of experience utilizing VMware vSphere, VirtualBox, and Vagrant to create and manage virtual machine environments.
- 2 years of experience utilizing DataDog, Grafana, or Nagios to collect performance metrics and conduct root-cause analysis.
