About the Role

The University of Chicago is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator 3 to provide leadership within the CCP research team. This role oversees a professional staff and volunteers responsible for research projects and programming while directly supporting the C4P study at Ingalls Memorial Hospital.

What You'll Do

  • Hire and train research coordinators, managing their schedules, timecards, and project assignments while ensuring they have daily resources.
  • Partner with UChicago career services to hire undergraduate and masters level students for research exposure.
  • Oversee all related study protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and data management.
  • Maintain good working relationships across the research project, working closely with Dr. Meltzer, CCP research, and the analytics team.
  • Work with the PI to collaborate with the informatics team and data programmers to design and manage databases to streamline research operations.
  • Team with UCM faculty to build research partnerships and share research infrastructure.
  • Lead research operations projects, including assessing budgets with the CCP leadership team, acting as an IRB liaison, updating protocols, and building databases through REDCap.
  • Take part in research design and analysis, developing participant screening tools, leading data cleaning initiatives, and designing operational workflows.
  • Validate and document CCP research documents and processes, maintaining csv files for programmers and informatics teams.
  • Leverage technical skills to support data analysis for health services research projects, including observational studies and randomized control trials.
  • Produce reports and presentations for funders and diverse audiences.
  • Facilitate daily activities of moderately complex clinical studies, including patient data retrieval, documenting records, and participating in program audits.
  • Be accountable for all tasks in moderately complex clinical studies.

What We're Looking For

  • A college or university degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice to Have

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Clinical research experience or relevant experience.
  • Experience coordinating multiple studies, such as investigator initiated, industry sponsored, and multi-site trials.
  • Awareness of safety hazards and taking appropriate precautions.
  • Ability to comprehend technical documents, create and deliver presentations, and communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Skill in condensing complicated issues into simple summaries for various constituents.
  • Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships, exercise absolute discretion on confidential matters, and follow instructions.
  • Skill in giving directions, handling sensitive matters with tact, managing stressful situations, and learning new skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of alertness, pay attention to detail, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to react effectively, quickly, calmly, and rationally during conflicts and emergencies.
  • Experience training or teaching others.
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with little supervision or as a team member, and to work independently.

Team & Environment

You will oversee a professional staff and volunteers responsible for research projects and related programming, supervising research operations. You will help the PI oversee the CCP/C4P research infrastructure, including a team of Research Coordinators and Research Assistants.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
