About the Role

MedWiz of New Jersey LLC is hiring a Clinical Intervention Center Pharmacist to play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. Reporting to the Pharmacist in Charge, you will focus on monitoring clinical clarifications and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and follow up on clinical clarifications utilizing the eMAR system, dispensing history, and direct communication with the nursing center.
  • Clear old pending clarifications from the queue based on new orders received or non-responsiveness.
  • Review and approve Change in Prescription suggestions based on payer preference using ECS messages and test claims.
  • Review and approve therapeutic interchange suggestions for non-auto TI states.
  • Communicate national backorder issues with centers, determine if alternative orders are required, or utilize backup pharmacies for short-term out-of-stock issues.
  • Respond to email and other electronic communication, including requests for RX Verify control withdrawals (if appropriately licensed).
  • Review emergency CII prescriptions and contact the center or MD to ensure timely receipt of hardcopies.
  • Perform all functions of a staff pharmacist.

What We're Looking For

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy.
  • Active State Pharmacist license and a state license to handle medication.
  • 1-3 years of pharmaceutical experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Pharmacy and medication distribution software (Pyxis Medbank, Frameworks).
  • Ability to read and interpret medication documentation, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively, both in person and by telephone, to customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to understand and interpret statistical reports, data charts and graphs.
  • Predictable, reliable, and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities: Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, Ability to adjust focus, Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
  • Ability to talk or hear regularly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk frequently.

Nice to Have

  • 2-4 years long term care pharmacy experience.
  • Experience with long term care pharmacy software.
