NextCare is looking for a Clinical Care Specialist (Medical Assistant) to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will support providers with exams and procedures and ensure smooth clinic operations, which may include front office reception duties.
What You'll Do
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, and direct patient care under direct supervision, operating within Medical Assistant scope of practice.
- Administer medications per policy and Provider direction, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Perform blood draws and urine collection for various testing, including employer drug screens.
- Conduct various physicals such as sports physicals.
- Perform urgent care procedures including splinting, casting, ear lavage, wound care, and oxygen administration.
- Promptly notify the provider on duty of all unusual patient occurrences, including medication events.
- Notify the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
- Follow guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
- Become proficient in EMR/EHR.
- Support front office reception by informing patients of wait times, monitoring patient flow, and processing discharges, which includes preparing charges, collecting payment, and obtaining signatures.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- AND one of the following:
- Completion of an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
- Completion of an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND a National Certification through AAMA (CMA), AMT (RMA), or NHA (CCMA).
- Completion of an UNAPPROVED medical assistant training program AND employment as a medical assistant for one (1) year or more after program completion, OR verifiable work experience directly supervised by a Provider or Physician Group for a minimum of 2000 hours or 1 year.

Work Mode
This is an onsite position. Locations include Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming.
