This role within Client Onboarding & Lifecycle Management focuses on the bank's critical client onboarding, ongoing AML/CFT monitoring, and review processes. The ideal candidate will maintain consistently high standards in line with the bank's AML/CFT procedures and may be tapped for additional compliance and risk management projects. Start Your Career as a Client Due Diligence Specialist Client On-boarding and Due Diligence • Conduct thorough, timely, and quality reviews of new client onboarding requests, including account approvals • Provide expert guidance to front office and team members on client onboarding matters, addressing KYC information and documentation gaps • Perform independent, comprehensive reviews including KYC/AML/Tax risk identification, plausibility checks, and Source of Wealth/Funds verification • Review and approve new business relationships with Independent Asset Managers, Referral Intermediaries, and counterparties • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders: Relationship Managers, Team Heads, Market Heads, Compliance, and internal colleagues to ensure seamless onboarding • Develop and deliver KYC/AML training for team members and front office staff • Support team leadership with client onboarding tasks and serve as deputy when delegated • Respond to internal, external, statutory, and regulatory audit queries and clarifications • Proactively identify and implement process and system enhancements to address evolving regulatory requirements Client Reviews • Update and verify existing client biodata • Manage alerts from periodic customer database screenings • Conduct comprehensive KYC and CDD reviews, with special focus on high-risk relationships and financial intermediaries • Identify and investigate suspicious activities, making recommendations for appropriate reporting to CAD and MAS/HKMA • Investigate suspicious transactions revealed during periodic reviews • Coordinate with relationship managers on identified issues and deficiencies • Refine and implement periodic review processes • Guide team members and relationship managers in review procedures General Responsibilities • Support Client Onboarding & Lifecycle Management as assigned • Collaborate on bank-wide remediation and special projects • Prepare management information reports • Organize front office training and alignment sessions Requirements • Minimum 5 years AML/KYC experience in a risk and control function within private banking • Deep understanding of risks specific to private banking (PEPs, Sanctions, reputational risks) • Comprehensive knowledge of MAS, HKMA, and international regulatory frameworks • Client onboarding approval experience in HK/SG private banking • University degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent Preferred Skills • Strong AML/CFT framework understanding • Regulatory environment expertise applicable to Private Banking • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
