The City of Saskatoon is seeking a Clerk 8 to join the Planning and Development Department. Reporting to the Manager, Customer Services, you will provide essential clerical support and oversee the maintenance of the department’s information and records management system.
What You'll Do
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the Department’s Information and Records Management System.
- Evaluate solutions for improvements to records and information management procedures and processes.
- Assist with establishing goals, setting standards, and evaluating operational effectiveness.
- Analyze and identify department records to determine appropriate classification and retention.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to requests for information under The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, including managing confidential information.
- Assist staff with training on electronic records software and handle day-to-day records inquiries.
- Scan, edit, index, and maintain documents according to corporate filing policy.
- Type, format, and process a variety of departmental correspondence, manuals, and reports.
- Participate in continuing records management education.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Grade 12 education and graduation from a recognized business college.
- A typing speed of 55 w.p.m.
- Three years' of diversified and progressively responsible office experience.
- Considerable knowledge of business English, arithmetic, and modern office practices.
- Knowledge of terminology used in building design and construction.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to prioritize duties and make decisions in accordance with established policies.
- Skill in operating a computer with word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Team & Environment
You will report directly to the Manager, Customer Services within the Planning and Development Department.
Benefits & Compensation
- Annual salary range: $55,739.28 to $61,452.00 CAD (2026 rates).
Work Mode
This role is onsite in Saskatoon.
