Humana is hiring a Chief Psychiatrist - Behavioral Health Medical Director to oversee the behavioral health clinical program for our Illinois FIDE members. This strategic role integrates the administration and management of behavioral and physical health services, focusing on clinical quality, program development, and stakeholder collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Lead clinical and quality management components of Humana’s behavioral health services.
- Oversee, monitor, and assist with psychopharmacology pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) activities, including prior authorization and clinical guidance for primary care providers.
- Develop comprehensive care programs for adult behavioral health concerns like ADHD and depression.
- Create targeted education and training for contracted primary care providers to screen for mental health and substance use disorders using evidence‐based tools.
- Coordinate with the Medical Director to integrate the administration and management of behavioral and physical health services.
- Oversee and assist with effective implementation of the Quality Management (QM) and Utilization Management (UM) programs.
- Lead behavioral health policy development in Illinois, driving implementation and accountability for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Provider relations personnel to ensure high-quality care delivered through the behavioral health Provider network.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Providers, advocates, and other key Illinois stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with behavioral health-related Contract requirements and attend oversight committee meetings.
- Collaborate with corporate and local population health teams to develop programs addressing behavioral health needs at a population health level.
What We're Looking For
- Physician with a current, unencumbered Illinois license board-certified in psychiatry.
- Must reside and perform work in the state of Illinois.
- 5+ years clinical experience working in behavioral health.
- Knowledge of the managed care industry.
- Possess analysis and interpretation skills with prior experience leading teams focusing on quality management, UM, discharge planning and/or home health or rehab.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Illinois-based behavioral health organizations.
- Medicaid Managed Care clinical or behavioral health leadership experience.
