STERIS is looking for a Chemical Filling & Packaging Operator II to operate and maintain advanced liquid filling and packaging equipment. In this role, you’ll ensure compliance with quality standards and detailed production records, contributing to our mission of helping Customers create a healthier and safer world.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate the complete filling and packaging line, including bottle in-feed, unscrambler, labeler, filler, capper, plugger, cap torquer, Videojet code dater, check weigher, bar coder, and case sealer.
- Perform proper palletization and storage of finished or unfinished products.
- Ensure correct hose hookups and operation of control panels for material flow.
- Record daily production and other required documentation per cGMP and ISO procedures.
- Set up and perform minor maintenance on all filling line equipment and assist Maintenance as needed.
- Adjust equipment and weights when changing over various size containers.
- Mark containers of hazardous waste as 'Hazardous Waste'.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Notify supervision of the need for packaging supplies or materials.
What We're Looking For
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, safety warning labels, and machine instruction manuals.
- Basic math, writing, and data entry skills.
Nice to Have
- 3+ years of experience working with liquid filling machinery, pumps, valves, piping, and cGMPs.
- Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in an FDA or other regulated industry.
