Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic activities and exercises.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the occupational therapy team to ensure patient goals are met.
- Provide support to patients in completing daily living activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members in Spanish and English.
- Assist in the development of treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes to the supervising occupational therapist.
- Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly maintained and organized.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during therapy sessions.
- Assist in the training of new staff members on occupational therapy procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Provide feedback to the occupational therapist on patient progress and any challenges encountered.
- Assist in the discharge planning process for patients.
- Provide input on the development of new treatment protocols and techniques.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with best practices.
- Assist in the evaluation of patient outcomes and the effectiveness of treatment plans.
- Provide support to patients in transitioning from inpatient to outpatient care.
- Assist in the development of educational materials for patients and their families.
- Provide input on the development of new occupational therapy programs and services.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a rehabilitation setting.
- Knowledge of Spanish language medical terminology.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Experience working with geriatric or pediatric patients.
- Knowledge of Spanish language occupational therapy terminology.
- Experience in providing occupational therapy services in a home health setting.
- Proficiency in Spanish language documentation and record-keeping.
- Experience in providing occupational therapy services in a school setting.
