Baptist Health is hiring a Central Scheduling - Patient Registration Specialist to join our team at Baptist Medical Center South. In this role, you will be responsible for the critical first touchpoint for patients, ensuring a smooth and accurate registration process that supports both patient care and financial integrity.
What You'll Do
- Perform patient pre-registration and registration
- Identify and verify payer information
- Refer patients to financial counseling as needed
- Collect patient financial responsibility at the point of service
- Ensure accurate data entry of patient demographic and benefit information
- Verify benefits eligibility, limitations, and coordination of benefits
- Understand and comply with regulatory requirements including medical necessity determination, Medicare Secondary Payer, HIPAA, and EMTALA
What We're Looking For
- High school graduate or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Associate’s degree in a healthcare or business-related field
- Bilingual capability (English/Spanish)
- At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment
- Training experience
- Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid
Technical Stack
- MS Office
- Relevant computer software for patient registration and scheduling
