Velera is hiring a Business Development Analyst (Reporting Analytics) to support strategic teams within our portfolio growth organization. In this remote role, you will create insights from data by developing dashboards, reports, visualizations, and analytical tools to solve complex business problems. You will partner closely with the business to detect patterns and solutions within our robust data environment.
What You'll Do
- Work with strategic teams to identify, define, and translate business needs into analytical solutions.
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain reports and dashboards for internal and client use.
- Perform analysis to report on engagement, portfolio, and industry trends.
- Manage data from multiple sources and develop proficiency with new or complex datasets.
- Ideate creative analytical solutions that support portfolio growth initiatives.
- Solicit stakeholder objectives and key metrics to create business requirement documents and formulate technical requirements.
- Review complex data sets for accuracy and dictate necessary modifications for quality assurance.
- Determine and understand required data sources for a given analysis.
- Learn and share knowledge and skills with team(s) to grow organizational impact.
- Explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences.
- Question the validity and accuracy of data and assumptions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, math, statistics, computer science, information systems, or an equivalent technical field.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to support data and/or reporting initiatives.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including creating pivot tables and formulas.
- Experience with data technologies, processes, and data mapping tools with integrated business models.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
- Knowledge of analytical tools, real-time dashboards, marketing automation tools like Salesforce, and workflow tools.
- Model high standards of confidentiality, discretion, ethics, independent judgment, and insightful decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to visualize the big picture and direct efficient deployment of resources.
- Curiosity and passion about data, visualization, and solving problems.
- Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data.
- Experience with reporting, descriptive statistics, probability, and cleaning big datasets.
- Financial industry knowledge and a desire to pursue business analytics and report development.
