UBC is looking for a Business Analytics Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will use advanced analytics to design and enhance pay-for-performance and value-based healthcare programs, turning complex data into actionable strategies that improve care delivery.
What You'll Do
- Conduct advanced and exploratory analytics to generate actionable insights for designing and enhancing pay-for-performance programs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design and evaluate Value Based Payment programs, including ACO, Episodes of Care/Bundle, Nephrology, and Oncology Medical Home programs.
- Apply robust statistical and clinical rigor using techniques like risk adjustment, episode analytics, statistical modeling, power analysis, and matched case control studies.
- Build financial models for new programs and manage annual reconciliation for pilot programs.
- Derive actionable insights from healthcare data (claims, clinical, pharmacy, externally sourced) to engage provider and clinical partners.
- Support IM/IT teams to deploy insights into accessible solutions for partners.
- Present analytic findings and recommendations to non-technical business partners and leadership to drive data-driven strategies.
- Explore innovative solutions to complex business questions.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Analytics, Information Science, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in a related occupation.
- Proven experience working with healthcare and insurance industry data to support Pay-for-performance strategy.
- Hands-on experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing Big Data (millions to hundreds of millions of records) housed in Teradata and Databricks using SQL and SAS/R/Python.
- Experience outputting findings through advanced visualization tools like Tableau/R/Python.
- Direct experience with ACO, bundles, and episodes of care.
- Strong applied statistics skills, including confidence intervals, power analysis, bootstrapping, and regression modeling.
- Experience in Medical Economics and healthcare financial modeling.
- Hands-on experience with healthcare data (medical claims, clinical, pharmacy, eligibility) and coding systems (CPT, ICD-9-10, HCPCS, LOINC, DRG, APC).
- Experience developing self-service dashboards using tools like AWS, Databricks, Tableau, R, Python.
- Experience supporting and enhancing analytics Data Warehouses.
- Proven ability to deliver on-time while managing multiple projects.
- Experience successfully navigating and contributing to a highly matrixed environment.
- Proficiency in advanced analytic techniques including risk adjustment, episode analytics, statistical modeling, power analysis, and matched case control studies.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $96,000 - $160,000 USD yearly.
