Role Overview

This position focuses on understanding how business operations function and where improvements can be made. The Business Analyst will work directly with stakeholders, product teams, and technical delivery groups to clarify goals, define scope, and ensure solutions meet real business needs. Success depends on clear thinking, strong communication, and the ability to turn complex workflows into actionable plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a connector between business units, product owners, and technical teams to align priorities and expectations.
  • Investigate current processes, customer pathways, and system interactions to identify inefficiencies and opportunities.
  • Lead discussions that uncover underlying requirements, limitations, and decision tradeoffs.
  • Use interviews, workshops, and observation to gather and validate business needs.
  • Transform business goals into structured user stories with defined acceptance conditions.
  • Document rules, data mappings, interface behaviors, and configuration details as needed.
  • Maintain models such as process diagrams, use cases, and data flow charts to support clarity and continuity.
  • Analyze the impact of proposed changes and help stakeholders understand dependencies and risks.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to break features into deliverable increments focused on value.
  • Support development and testing teams by clarifying intent and resolving questions during delivery cycles.
  • Verify that final solutions meet documented requirements and support user validation efforts.
  • Manage workload effectively to meet timelines and evolving priorities.
  • Identify recurring patterns and systemic issues to drive broader process improvements.
  • Help refine how teams collect, structure, and share requirements across projects.
  • Support the use of consistent templates, practices, and standards in analysis work.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven ability to analyze complex situations and extract clear, actionable components.
  • Experience gathering and documenting functional and business requirements in technology-driven environments.
  • Skilled at leading discussions with diverse groups, including non-technical participants.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capable of working both independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in Agile or hybrid delivery settings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or a related discipline.
  • Background in insurance operations or services.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise platforms such as Guidewire.
  • Familiarity with tools including Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience mapping data flows, integrations, or configuration-heavy systems.
  • Relevant certifications, or a willingness to pursue them.
