The New York Times is hiring a Business Affairs Coordinator to serve as a critical liaison, administering the contractual and compliance aspects of creative productions for the Advertising team. This is a New York City based hybrid role reporting to the Director of Business Affairs.
What You'll Do
- Administer and negotiate content provider and services agreements using company templates.
- Summarize and communicate contractual obligations across teams like Program Management and Finance.
- Help manage issues related to copyright, trademark compliance, and licensing.
- Flag potential legal or third-party rights issues and advise teams on next steps under guidance.
- Help with clearance of third-party content, including researching rights holders and securing permissions.
- Oversee the administration and tracking of contract life cycles through final execution and payment.
- Update status information in enterprise procurement software and team trackers.
- Ensure third-party payments accurately reflect agreed terms.
- Ensure content provider agreements align with client agreement positions.
- Manage third-party provider onboarding in procurement platforms and process invoices.
- Perform ad-hoc administration tasks and occasional special projects.

What We're Looking For
- 2+ years experience in business affairs and contract management with a focus on advertising and content production at a publisher, media publication, or ad agency.
- Knowledge of licensing, intellectual property, rights and clearances, and digital content distribution.
- Experience communicating across multiple seniority levels including Program Management, Finance, and Production teams.
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of Google Suite.
