Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is looking for a Building Operator to join the facility management team supporting a prominent client's plant in Richmond. In this critical role, you will be the operational lead responsible for ensuring the continuous, efficient performance of all building systems at a 24/7 facility, requiring availability for a rotating schedule of 8-hour shifts.
What You'll Do
- Ensure work in client space is performed with minimal disruption and adequate cleanup.
- Perform maintenance and repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
- Ensure an adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies.
- Record system readings and make adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Maintain HVAC systems and equipment through cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts.
- Comply with policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Review monthly service request summaries to identify and correct recurrent problems.
- Verify accuracy of deliveries for count, pricing, and description.
- Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
- Monitor quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
- Lead and/or assist with event setup and teardown activities.
- Perform additional job duties as requested.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience as a building operator in a commercial environment.
- Must hold, in good standing, a British Columbia 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
- Ability to work all shifts (day/afternoon/night).
- Ability to analyze system operations, determine the cause of problems or malfunctions, and take corrective action.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
- Must be available for call-in work and to perform other duties as required.
Nice to Have
- British Columbia 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
- Working knowledge of BAS – Metasys and Corrigo work order systems.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 CAD per year.
Work Mode
This position is fully onsite at the client's plant located in Richmond, BC.
