About the Role
The Site Survey Engineer will conduct field assessments of existing and proposed network infrastructure, gather technical data, and produce detailed reports to support engineering and deployment teams. This role ensures accurate planning and efficient implementation of network upgrades and expansions.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site evaluations of telecommunications infrastructure
- Collect precise location and structural data for network planning
- Document existing network assets and identify upgrade requirements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support project design
- Produce detailed survey reports with technical specifications
- Use GPS and mapping tools to record asset coordinates
- Assess environmental conditions affecting network deployment
- Verify pole and conduit availability for fiber routing
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Support project timelines by delivering timely survey results
- Coordinate access with property owners and local authorities
- Identify potential construction challenges in advance
- Maintain accurate records of all survey activities
- Utilize mobile data collection applications in the field
- Communicate findings to internal stakeholders
- Assist in validating third-party survey data
- Conduct pre-installation site walks for new builds
- Evaluate aerial and underground pathway options
- Support network hardening and modernization initiatives
- Adhere to company safety protocols during field operations
