SGS Australia / Fulcrum Robotics is hiring a Bilingual Quality Assurance Inspector

About the Role

Conduct inspections to verify manufacturing compliance with technical drawings, client requirements, and applicable standards. Report directly to the Operations Manager and deliver detailed inspection reports within 24 hours of site visits.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out assigned tasks as directed by a supervisor or department coordinator.
  • Assess and interpret client requirements to guide inspection activities.
  • Plan and organize on-site work, including preparing necessary documents and equipment.
  • Ensure all inspection tools are functional and properly calibrated.
  • Engage with clients or suppliers to gather essential project information.
  • Align inspection activities with the manufacturer’s project timeline in coordination with clients or suppliers.
  • Conduct on-site inspections with precision and professionalism, ensuring adherence to the scope of work and timely completion.
  • Evaluate quality plans from manufacturers and subcontractors for completeness and compliance.
  • Review supplier purchase orders for accuracy and alignment with project needs.
  • Examine technical specifications to confirm manufacturing adherence.
  • Analyze test reports to verify compliance with required standards.
  • Verify that quality plans and relevant procedures are properly implemented.
  • Inspect manufacturing output against engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional checks on welds according to specified criteria.
  • Monitor and validate actual progress of manufacturing work.
  • Communicate with clients when directed by management.
  • Complete all required quality documentation related to inspections or monitoring.
  • Ensure suppliers generate and submit non-conformance reports to clients when issues are found.
  • Inform clients promptly of any identified non-conformances at the worksite.
  • Prepare and deliver non-conformance reports to manufacturers when deficiencies are observed.
  • Attend factory meetings focused on manufacturing quality matters.
  • Observe and verify manufacturing tests and trial assemblies.
  • Produce clear, accurate reports within the required timeframe, typically within 24 hours of site completion.
  • Perform administrative duties including data entry, document filing, photocopying, and issuing certificates, as well as special assignments.

Requirements

  • Certified as a CSA W178.2 Visual Inspector at Level 1, 2, or 3
  • Fluent in both French and English

Work Arrangement

hybrid — Trois Rivieres area — 20% remote, 80% on-site
