Role Overview
As a Bilingual Legal Counsel for the Global Solutions division, you will deliver comprehensive legal support across international markets. Your work will center on ensuring compliance with evolving legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly in privacy, data protection, consumer reporting, and technology law. Based remotely in Costa Rica, you will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and internal stakeholders, helping guide strategic decisions through a legal lens.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver legal guidance on commercial matters, ensuring company practices align with applicable laws and contractual obligations.
- Interpret, draft, and review legal documents, including contracts involving cross-border data transfers and technology solutions.
- Advise management on compliance risks related to data privacy, consumer reporting regulations, and emerging legislation.
- Assess legal exposure in new products and services and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, particularly in data, technology, and consumer protection, to keep leadership informed.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Compliance, Risk, and Operations to address legal and commercial challenges.
- Conduct training sessions for internal clients on legal topics, tailored to sales, operations, and management audiences.
- Maintain clear communication with senior legal leadership on significant legal or regulatory developments.
- Support broader legal team initiatives and contribute to process improvements as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a law degree and be licensed members of the bar in their country of residence. A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in commercial law is required. Strong written and verbal English skills are essential, along with proven ability to draft precise legal documents.
Core competencies include analytical reasoning, negotiation, risk assessment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with legal technology tools is expected.

Work Environment
This is a remote position based in Costa Rica, with occasional participation in in-person events and limited travel as needed. The role demands a self-directed professional comfortable working across time zones and collaborating virtually with diverse teams.
