Hyatt Regency Lake Washington is hiring a Banquet Sous Chef to manage a specific kitchen department and collaborate with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to implement and maintain quality standards. You will be instrumental in creating a positive guest experience and may oversee the entire culinary operation in the absence of senior leadership.
What You'll Do
- Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities.
- Act as the liaison between all culinary departments and other hotel departments.
- Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items.
- Develop and implement creative menu items adhering to Hyatt brand standards.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement special events and holiday functions.
- Lead and coach the team toward exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction.
- Monitor daily food production, ordering, cost, quality, and consistency.
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment.
What We're Looking For
- In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship skills.
- Experience with training, basic financial management, and customer service.
- Proficiency in general computer knowledge.
- A genuine desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to produce a consistent product in a timely manner.
- Strong training and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Culinary education and/or extensive on-the-job training; hotel experience is preferred.

Team & Environment
Sous Chefs report directly to the Executive Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef. Hyatt develops Sous Chefs for progression into the role of Executive Sous Chef through training in Banquets, Restaurants, and Garde Manager.
