What You'll Do
Oversee the deployment and ongoing maintenance of backup infrastructure across diverse environments, including physical, virtual, and cloud platforms. Configure and fine-tune backup policies to align with operational needs and recovery objectives.
Monitor system performance, identify job failures, and resolve issues promptly to maintain data integrity and service continuity. Execute data restoration tasks efficiently and ensure backup solutions remain highly available and resilient.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to integrate systems seamlessly and support incident resolution through a structured ticketing process. Participate in on-call rotations to provide continuous service coverage and respond to critical events as needed.
Travel to data centers may be required to support infrastructure operations and ensure end-to-end reliability.
Requirements
Proven experience administering backup platforms such as Commvault, Veeam, and Storage Protect is required. You must be skilled in configuring, tuning, and updating backup systems, as well as managing automated tape libraries (ATLs) and virtual tape libraries (VTLs).
Strong scripting and automation abilities are essential for streamlining operations. You should also have experience supporting clients in designing and implementing backup architectures.
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Portuguese is mandatory. You must ensure backup environments comply with security policies and data retention standards while maintaining consistent monitoring of capacity, availability, and performance forecasts.
