Palmstreet is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to shape the future of live shopping. You will lead key architectural decisions, develop core user experiences like instant bidding and live interactions, and build scalable architecture to support millions of users.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain robust backend services and APIs for web and mobile using Node.js
- Work closely with Product Management and Design to develop scalable products
- Establish ownership of a specific component, feature, or system with expert end-to-end understanding
- Complete large-scope projects while maintaining a high level of productivity
- Own DevOps responsibilities including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure management, deployment automation, and system reliability
- Leverage AI coding tools like Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code to accelerate development and improve quality
What We're Looking For
- BS (or higher) in Computer Science
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin
- 5+ years experience building highly scalable and reliable infrastructure
- Hands-on DevOps experience: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS)
Nice to Have
- Experience with payment systems
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Codex, Claude Code)
- Experience building high-concurrency systems
- Experience creating web interfaces using React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript to integrate with backend services
