What You'll Do
You'll lead the design and implementation of scalable backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript, shaping the foundation of a cloud-native healthcare platform. Your work will focus on building and refining microservices deployed in AWS production environments, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and maintainability.
You'll implement event-driven and asynchronous workflows to support high-throughput operations, ensuring systems remain responsive under load. You'll also enhance CI/CD pipelines and apply Infrastructure as Code principles using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to streamline deployment and improve system consistency.
Collaboration with frontend engineers is expected, but your primary focus will remain on backend architecture and development. You’ll actively participate in sprint cycles, delivering production-ready code and contributing to the long-term evolution of the platform’s backend infrastructure.
What We're Looking For
- 5 to 8 years of direct software development experience, with strong fluency in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Proven track record deploying and managing applications in AWS at scale
- Hands-on experience designing distributed systems and microservices architectures
- Familiarity with event-driven design patterns and asynchronous processing
- Experience configuring and improving CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code workflows
- Solid grasp of scalability, fault tolerance, and DevOps best practices
- Advanced English proficiency for clear communication in technical discussions
Nice-to-Have
- Experience collaborating with frontend teams or working with React
- Background using Python in backend contexts
- Previous roles in startups or fast-moving technical environments
- Exposure to observability tools for monitoring and debugging distributed systems
Environment & Impact
You’ll join a collaborative LATAM-based engineering team focused on solving complex backend challenges. The systems you help build directly support critical healthcare workflows in the U.S., offering a rare chance to work on technology that improves patient care. This is a deeply hands-on role—no oversight without execution. You’ll write code every day, solve tough technical problems, and see your contributions go live in high-stakes environments.
