About the Role
The role involves building and maintaining core backend services, collaborating with product and frontend teams, and contributing to system design and infrastructure decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable APIs and services
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing features
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Participate in architectural discussions and planning
- Optimize systems for performance and reliability
- Work closely with product teams to define requirements
- Maintain and improve existing codebases
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across services
- Monitor system health and respond to alerts
- Contribute to database design and query optimization
- Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Support deployment and CI/CD processes
- Document technical designs and decisions
- Review peers' code for quality and best practices
- Stay current with backend technologies and frameworks
- Help define engineering standards and practices
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Evaluate third-party services and tools
- Contribute to security best practices
- Scale infrastructure to meet growing demand
- Refactor legacy systems for improved maintainability
- Support integration with external partners
- Assist in defining service level objectives
- Contribute to post-mortem analyses after incidents
