Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer focused on designing and automating Azure services and workloads. You will be responsible for building, securing, and optimizing our Azure Platform using Policy, RBAC, and Functions while guiding teams in modern DevOps and automation practices.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, secure, and optimize Azure environments, applying strong knowledge of Azure Architecture, Governance, Policy, RBAC, and Functions.
- Lead improvements to the Azure Cloud Platform, systems, and engineering practices to enhance efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Ansible to provision, manage, and scale Azure resources consistently and securely.
- Drive automation and orchestration, leveraging Python, Ansible, and other tooling to streamline workflows.
- Provide self-service provisioning supporting both traditional IaaS workloads and modern immutable implementations.
- Apply DevOps methodologies to strengthen CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate across teams and with external partners to ensure alignment and deliver high-quality Azure-based solutions.
- Work with product owners to champion modern engineering approaches and help implement the Azure roadmap.
- Author service collateral, design artifacts, and support documentation to enable scalable adoption.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues, communicate and document procedures, and recommend architectural changes.
- Provide training and production support as required.
What We're Looking For
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
- Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, and Python for infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of enterprise Active Directory integration and privileged access management.
- Problem-solving skills in diagnosing technical issues and recommending architectural changes.
- Ability to break down objectives into detailed increments and deliver on-time.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing and governing enterprise-scale Azure environments.
- Background in Azure security, including Policy, RBAC, and identity governance.
- Experience working in or building CI/CD pipelines, observability frameworks, and automated testing practices.
