AECOM is hiring an Aviation Engineering Technical Practice Leader for the Americas to lead the growth and technical direction of our aviation engineering practice. In this strategic role, you will reinforce delivery quality, strengthen technical capabilities, and represent AECOM as a leader within the aviation industry.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to practice growth, strategy, and service sales in collaboration with Regional Aviation Market Sector Leads and the Global Aviation team.
- Build strong relationships with clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement national strategies for aviation civil engineering projects aligned with organizational goals and regulatory frameworks.
- Build, structure, and recruit technical delivery teams with appropriate skills for effective project delivery.
- Advise leadership on resource capabilities to enable market growth and improve geographic reach.
- Perform quality controls or project audits on large or high-risk projects to confirm adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Define and mitigate risks and commercial terms during the pursuit and contract execution process.
- Serve as Principal in Charge or Project/Program Manager for key strategic pursuits and projects in the Americas.
- Champion AI engineering initiatives and establish a working group for the aviation civil practice.
- Lead all phases of airport infrastructure projects including planning, budgeting, design, permitting, and construction.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable FAA, ICAO, TSA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout project planning and execution.
- Represent AECOM at industry events and serve as the primary liaison with aviation industry partners, airport operators, and federal agencies.
- Promote the Aviation Engineering Practice within AECOM, shepherd a strong culture, and assist in recruiting top talent.
- Develop and train the next generation of airport engineers, facilitate practice calls, and lead the annual Aviation Engineering Workshop.
- Provide leadership to large, multidisciplinary teams of engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
