Abercrombie and Fitch Co. is hiring an Assistant/Associate Product Copywriter for the Creative Marketing team. In this remote role, you will create on-brand product descriptions for online use and develop product names and editorial language for on-garment placement. You'll collaborate with merchandising teams to ensure accuracy, convey product quality, and contribute to a seamless customer experience.
What You'll Do
- Write engaging and accurate product descriptions for all A&F brands.
- Maintain consistent copy structure and voice across all product categories.
- Ensure legal compliance of product claims across all descriptions.
- Collaborate with site merchandising to ensure a consistent customer experience.
- Brainstorm unique, ownable product names for on-product marketing.
- Write editorial language to define collections and key items on-product.
- Collaborate with design to execute hangtags and on-product marketing.
- Own the color naming process for all brands with the studio team.
- Stay current on fashion trends and competitor product naming.
- Help communicate key on-product marketing moments for seasonal campaigns.
- Edit copy based on feedback, product changes, trends, and performance.
- Stay curious about fashion trends and industry standard language.
- Perform and share competitive research to inform future copy.
- Participate in team collaborations to share knowledge and serve as a product subject matter expert.
What We're Looking For
- Near-perfect editing and grammar skills.
- Ability to write short, smart, snappy copy with a clear point of view.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, Creative Writing, Advertising/Copywriting, or related experience.
- A relentless passion for fashion and working knowledge of product terminology.
- 1+ years of copywriting experience, preferably in retail/product copy.
- A portfolio showcasing technical writing, attention to detail, and grammar proficiency.
- Basic knowledge of marketing principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication with exceptional editing skills.
- Ability to operate autonomously with strong time management and a self-starter mindset.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Open to constructive criticism and able to act upon it quickly.
- Ongoing interest in fashion and familiarity with the A&F brand and competitors.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel & Teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Mural and PIM helpful but not required.
