Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is looking for a Remote Triage RN to join our Clinical Contact Center. In this part-time, rotating role, you will serve as a critical liaison between patients and their physicians, providing clinically expert virtual triage service.
What You'll Do
- Establish positive first impressions with patients and customers, acting as a patient advocate.
- Triage all incoming telephone calls and electronic messages, prioritizing and resolving them.
- Incorporate critical thinking to develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care.
- Ask key questions to gain insight into patient clinical conditions and adjust your approach.
- Document all communications in the electronic medical record.
- Schedule patients for visits with providers based on established protocols.
- Follow triage protocols in place for the department.
- Assist in scheduling appointments for patients within the Northwestern Medicine system.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff members.
- Assist in specific process improvement projects.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement activities.
- Use effective service recovery skills to solve problems when they occur.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited RN program.
- 2 years of ambulatory care experience.
- Registered Nurse License issued by the State of Illinois.
- Current AHA BLS Provider certification.
Nice to Have
- BSN degree.
- Specialty certification upon eligibility.
